Pike push-up

A push-up from an inverted V position that shifts the work onto your shoulders and builds toward overhead pressing strength.

AdvancedNo equipmentLow impactSuggested: 8 reps

How to do it

  1. From a high plank, walk your feet toward your hands and lift your hips into an upside-down V.
  2. Keep your arms straight with your head between them.
  3. Bend your elbows to lower the top of your head toward the floor, just in front of your hands.
  4. Press back up to straight arms, keeping your hips high.

Form tips

  • Let your elbows bend back toward your feet rather than flaring out to the sides.
  • Bend your knees slightly if your hamstrings feel tight.
  • Walk your feet closer to your hands to put more of your weight over your shoulders.
