Side plank hip dips

A side plank where you lower and lift your hips with control to strengthen your obliques and the sides of your hips.

IntermediateMatLow impactSuggested: 12 reps per side

How to do it

  1. Lie on your side with your elbow under your shoulder and your legs stacked.
  2. Lift your hips into a side plank with your body in a straight line.
  3. Lower your hips until they almost touch the floor.
  4. Lift them back up past straight, then finish all reps before switching sides.

Work one side, then switch. Timed sets run once per side.

Form tips

  • Keep your hips stacked rather than rolling forward.
  • Bend your bottom knee to the floor for an easier version.
