A high plank where you reach one arm straight out in front at a time, training your core to resist rotating.

IntermediateNo equipmentLow impactSuggested: 30 sec

How to do it

  1. Start in a high plank with your hands under your shoulders and feet hip-width apart.
  2. Shift your weight slightly and reach one arm forward at shoulder height.
  3. Hold for a breath, then place the hand back down.
  4. Repeat with the other arm.

Alternate sides with each rep.

Form tips

  • Keep your hips square to the floor as the arm lifts.
  • Widen your feet to make the balance easier.
