Glute bridge

A floor exercise that strengthens your glutes and hamstrings by driving your hips up toward the ceiling.

BeginnerMatLow impactSuggested: 15 reps

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with your knees bent, feet flat and hip-width apart, and arms by your sides.
  2. Press through your heels and squeeze your glutes to lift your hips.
  3. Rise until your body forms a straight line from shoulders to knees.
  4. Pause for a moment, then lower your hips with control.

Form tips

  • Keep your ribs down so the lift comes from your hips, not your lower back.
  • Keep your head and shoulders relaxed on the floor.
