Arnold press

A shoulder press that starts with your palms facing you and rotates out as you press, working all sides of your shoulders.

IntermediateDumbbellsLow impactSuggested: 10 reps

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand in front of your shoulders, palms facing you.
  2. Open your elbows out to the sides as you turn your palms forward.
  3. Press the weights overhead until your arms are straight.
  4. Reverse the path, turning your palms back toward you as you lower.

Form tips

  • Keep your ribs down so your lower back does not arch.
  • Make the rotation smooth rather than a separate step.
