March in place

A low-impact way to raise your heart rate and warm up your legs by lifting your knees on the spot.

BeginnerNo equipmentLow impactSuggested: 30 sec

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms relaxed at your sides.
  2. Lift your left knee to about hip height as your right arm swings forward.
  3. Lower your left foot and lift your right knee as your left arm swings forward.
  4. Keep alternating at a steady, comfortable pace.

Alternate sides with each rep.

Form tips

  • Set each foot down softly to keep the movement quiet and easy on your joints.
  • Stand up straight rather than leaning back as your knees lift.
