Butt kicks

Quick running in place that flicks each heel up toward your glutes to warm the hamstrings and raise your heart rate.

BeginnerNo equipmentHigh impactSuggested: 30 sec

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms bent.
  2. Jog in place, bending one knee to kick that heel up toward your glutes.
  3. Land lightly on the ball of the foot as the other heel kicks up.
  4. Keep your knees pointing down and your arms swinging in rhythm.

Alternate sides with each rep.

Form tips

  • Keep your thighs close to vertical so the bend comes from the knee.
  • Stay on the balls of your feet for a quick, light rhythm.
