Lying quad stretch

A face-down quad stretch that needs no balance, making it an easy cool-down after legs or a run.

BeginnerMatLow impactSuggested: 20 sec per side

How to do it

  1. Lie face down and prop yourself up on your right forearm.
  2. Bend your left knee and reach back with your left hand to hold your foot or ankle.
  3. Gently draw your heel toward your glutes.
  4. Press your left hip into the mat to feel the stretch along the front of your thigh.
  5. Hold, then switch sides.

Work one side, then switch. Timed sets run once per side.

Form tips

  • Loop a towel around your foot if you cannot reach it.
  • Keep your knees close together.
