Wall chest stretch

A one-arm stretch against a wall that opens the chest and the front of the shoulder after pushing work.

BeginnerWallLow impactSuggested: 20 sec per side

How to do it

  1. Stand with your back to a wall, about an arm length away.
  2. Reach your left arm back and place your palm flat on the wall at shoulder height.
  3. Keep the arm long and gently turn your chest away from the wall.
  4. Step forward slightly until you feel a stretch across your chest and shoulder.
  5. Hold, then switch arms.

Work one side, then switch. Timed sets run once per side.

Form tips

  • Move your hand a little higher or lower to find the spot that feels best.
  • Keep your shoulder down and back rather than letting it roll forward.
