A standing stretch that bends you gently side to side to lengthen your waist and loosen up your torso.

BeginnerNo equipmentLow impactSuggested: 30 sec

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms by your sides.
  2. Reach your right arm up and over your head as you bend to the left.
  3. Slide your left hand down your thigh and pause in the stretch.
  4. Return to standing tall, then repeat to the right with your left arm overhead.
  5. Keep alternating sides with slow, controlled movements.

Alternate sides with each rep.

Form tips

  • Bend directly sideways without leaning forward or back.
  • Keep both feet planted and your hips steady.
  • Breathe out as you bend and in as you return.
