Neck side stretch

A gentle held stretch for the side of the neck and upper traps, great for desk tension.

BeginnerNo equipmentLow impactSuggested: 20 sec per side

How to do it

  1. Stand or sit tall with your shoulders relaxed.
  2. Tilt your left ear toward your left shoulder.
  3. Rest your left hand on the right side of your head and let its weight add a light pull.
  4. Reach your right fingertips toward the floor to feel the stretch along the right side of your neck.
  5. Hold, breathing slowly, then switch sides.

Work one side, then switch. Timed sets run once per side.

Form tips

  • Let the weight of your hand do the work instead of pulling hard.
  • Keep your chin level rather than letting it drop forward.
